Day 4- January 17. Types of proofs
Objective:
Still working with the magazines students brought, I introduced the concepts of Pathos, Logos, Ethos - Types of Proofs. We then applied this to the reading of "Hard Rock Returns to Prison". This enabled me to introduce Pathos, Logos, Ethos, but also to start introducing students to the challenge of reading literature with a critical eye: Is there a claim? Is is implied? Is there a surface message? Tell me what you feel when reading this piece and Show me why you feel that way.
